Day 2- Sunday at Boston

Today we went to Lexington and Concord, where we walked around seeing monuments, videos, buildings, and various war sites.

Some of my notes from my day included:

  • April 19, 1775 was the start of the Battle of Lexington

  • A common, is land that everyone could go on to grace cattle

  • The Minutemen asked to lay down their weapons, while the British kept some fire

  • At the end of the battle, all of the dead bodies were put in to one cemetery

  • In 1835, the dug up all the bodies and properly buried them and put each name on the monument

  • The British had 700 men, while the Minutemen had 77

While looking at the picture above, some information about this bridge was:

  • The Minutemen sent 100 men across the bridge

  • The bridge name was, the Old North Bridge
  • Although the Minutemen were outnumbered, they were still able to push the British back into Concord

So, even though the numbers were very different in battle, the Minutemen were still able to win this battle
